Nicotine Gum

Have you ever tried breaking up this way?

Did it work?

What it is:

Nicotine gum is a form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) where nicotine is delivered through a special type of gum.

How it works:

The nicotine is absorbed through your gums and cheek. You must bite the gum a few times and then keep it against your cheek for it to work correctly. If you chew it like ordinary gum, it won’t work effectively.

Getting Started:

You can pick up nicotine gum at your local pharmacy. You don’t need a prescription to use it, but you should read the package carefully to learn how to use it properly. Chew it a few times, then rest it against your cheek for 20-30 minutes, chewing slowly every few minutes. If you have any questions about using nicotine gum or if you are unsure if it’s right for you, talk to a Health Care Professional.
